Air for Paws

Air for Paws

When disaster strikes, family pets can become victims too. It is estimated that over 40,000 of our four legged friends die in fires each year from smoke asphyxiation. Air For Paws is dedicated to providing our fire and rescue personnel with special resuscitation kits and training that can save their lives.

It is a devastating event when someone loses their home by fire. When that loss is coupled with the death of a beloved pet the effects of the event are even more overwhelming. On the occasions when their animals’ lives have been saved, it has been a huge win for them on one of the worst days of their lives.

Air For Paws honors all our animal companions by helping to equip first responders with animal resuscitation kits and training. These masks have found their way into the hands of first responders primarily through word of mouth and the generosity of compassionate, caring individuals.

We all love our pets, so we at Sereno Group are proud to help this program that can help save our entire family in a disaster

Kidpower’s fun, NON-fear-based “Successful Practice” method of teaching concepts and skills prepares our participants to use their own power (or teach the people in their care) to protect themselves from most (cyber) bullying, harassment, molestation, abduction and abuse, and other overt and insidious forms of violence, and empower them to develop strong and safe relationships that enrich their lives.

It gives people the chance to be successful in practicing ‘People Safety’ and ‘Social-Emotional Development’ skills — skills that improve the safety and quality of interactions with other people as well as help people to be safe themselves — in a context specific to their abilities and life situations, which reduces anxiety and builds competence.

The Grateful Garment

The Grateful Garment

The Grateful Garment Project (TGGP) provides comfort and dignity to many victims of sexual violence by providing an array of resources that enable them to reclaim their dignity and begin the process of healing.

TGGP’s purpose is to ensure that all victims of sexual assault go home with proper clothing and are provided with items they require to reduce further trauma. There is currently no federal or state program tasked with providing resources to victims during Sexual Assault Forensic Exams. As a result, nurses have had to allow victims to leave the exam wearing a disposable hospital gown or a pair of paper scrubs.

Due to the efforts of TGGP, 68 agencies in 29 California Counties now have access to TGGP S.A.R.T. Resource Closets, that are stocked with new clothing, comfort items, and non-perishable food and beverages. EVERY day, resources from TGGP are used by anywhere from 25 to 40 people who have been harmed by sexual violence.
